Just a lovely sunday afternoon

After a quiet sunday morning, the men in our family decided to go outside and play with their remote controlled toyes.

So then I asked Melanie what she wanted to do and she had the great idea to go for a walk. So I thought it would be nice to walk to the neighbouring village and get a cool drink by the lake. I love this beautiful walk down the mountain. When my neighbour Kathrin heard of our idea, she decided to join us as well and her husband would then pick us up with his boat at the lake for a super boat ride home.
We all had a great time. The wetter could be better and when we got to the lake and on the boat, Melanie couldn't stop smiling. Really a super sunday afternoon.

Getting ready for the riding lesson :)

Everytime when Melanie finds a crafts program on tv, she makes me watch to that we can make something together. So when we say how to make a little horse she made saw that I saw every detail of how to make it!

So now she can do some hometraining for her first riding lesson monday. LOL

Melanie's riding adventure

Melanie always talks bout horses and when she sees a pony ride some where whe always wants to ride endlessly! So when my sister inlaw told me about this fun riding stables for kids I just had to check that out :)

So last friday we went to have have a look. It was a beautiful sunny day and when we arrived I coulnd't believe how beautiful the place it. It is in a old Swiss farmhouse.
The best thing is that they also have a great playground, so when you bring one child to ride, the other can play.

Eastertrip- Day 3

Fortress time!!! In Würzburg there is this beautiful fortress on tip of the moutian, overlooking the city. Melanie was hoping to find Cindarella there! LOL

In the fortress the kids discovered that it had great hiding places. So especially Martin had fun trying to scare mom by suddendly jumping from behind door and walls!

But he was in a joking mood anyway this day! :

Eastertrip - Day 2

Today we arrived in Würzburg. This beautful old city is packed with beautiful old houses and playes an important part in the German history.
Hans had to work here for two days, so the kids decided to visit the King Bishops residence, which is the big beige building in the picture above.
Now of course I was hoping to shoot some great pictures but there was no photography allowed in the residence. :(
Now in all honest, the kids were w little to young still to really enjoy looking at old places. So we didn't stay really long and had a walk around the city and the park.
Here are the two very tired kids, resting in the park! LOL

But back at the camper the kids found new energy and played all evening.

Eastertrip - Day 1

After a snow start in the morning we were finally on our way to Germany.
That evening Hans had found us a beautiful place for thr night. This little place was so cute that the first thing we did was going around the town looking at all the houses.
But then it was time to play and enjoy the beautiful evening.

So the men got their toys....

and us girls played with the frisby .

Happy birthday Martin

Martin turned three yesturday!!!

Time goes so fast and it is really hard to imagine that already 3 years have past since my little boy was born!

And he really turned into a real boy because he loves everything that moves like car, tractors, you name it!!!

That's why he was in heaven all day because of all great presents that he got!!!

But what is a birthday without a birthday cake!!! So mommy went to back Martin this cake in the shape of a castle! The kids did a great job decorating it after the cake was done!

Now that the house and the cake was decorated we had an other special treat. My brother, Martins uncle, who happened to have his birthday on the same day as Martin, was on a business trip in Switzerland and had time to give us a visit! So in the picture below you can see the two birthday boys who are blowing out the candles!

So it was a perfect day and luckly for martin the birthday fun will continue this sunday when we will celebrate his birthday with his Swiss family!!! What a lucky little gusy :)

Hi everybody,

Happy New Year!!!! I noticed that is has been a while since I posted something.Well we have been taking it easy over the holidays and enjoyed our family. This year we had and still have lot's of snow. So you can imagine that the kids are having the time of their life!

Today, on the last day of Mellie vacation I took the kids up the mountain behind our house to go sledding! It was a beautiful day today and with the sun and the snow I this happy vacation feeling :) Melanie was totally in sledding and wanted to go all by herself. Martin wasn't in the mood and just wanted to dig in the snow!

I have a little catching up to do;)

It has been a while since I have updated my bog so I have a lot to share.
Lately we have had new snow everyday. So I can only say that the snow dominated our lives at the moment. The last few days Martin and I will go to the store with him sitting on a sled and he loves it so much that when we get to the store he tells me that he wants to stay outside on the sled. Now because he is only two I don't think that is a good idea but once in the store he does find some advantages of comming in with mommy ;)
Melanie is snow crazy as well and lays, rolls and play in the snow for as long as she can.

In this picture below Melanie just came out of Kindergarten and was pulling her brother up the hill when the rope slipped out of her hands. But don't worry I was behind Martin and the sled only went backwards a little slowly. I just love this picture of the kids in the bg and Mellie's look on her face.

Sinterklaas is back in spain so it's time to get our home ready for christmas. The kids were so excited about that , so after mom had put all the lights in the tree they did the whole tree decorating themselves. I must say for a 5 and 2 year old they didn't do a bad job.

Here is Melanie after she was finished decorating.

I think our Sinterklaas has the best legs, but he is also very nice and the kids love our little yearly trip to see the old man.

Then last but not least in the last weekend of november I visited my friends and family in Holland. That was really great to see everyone and have lot's of laughs and catching ups! The only pitty was that I was looking forward to making some great pictures of Amsterdam but somehow I didn't get it right. But that will be my big excuse to go again soon ;)

Baking our Christmas ornaments :)

The days are getting shorter and the weather outside cold and rainy. I was stuck with a little flu and was wondering what we could to inside that would make us all happy! Now I happened to remember making breaddough decorations with my mom when I was young. So I went on the internet, found the recipe and got everything ready. With christmas comming around soon I thought it would be fun making christmasdecorations together.

The kids were really good. We were in the kitchen making and baking from 10 in the morning until three thirty in the afternoon. For the first part of that day we started very serious, but after a while things did get silly a little.

I was really happy that this bread is not for consumption :) But although it got wild a little in the end, we did end up with some cute results! In the pictures below you can see some of the stuff we made.

Our camper trip to the Bodensee

Our trip to the Bodensee started early in the morning! Both kids were really supriced that we woke them up when it was still dark but realised right away that we would go on a adventure!
After a couple of hours we arrived in Konstanz at the Bodensee. But because our end destination was on the otherside of this lake we took the ferry.

Our destination for that day was the model expo. Where they have everything from small planes to trains. You can see almost all men with big smiles on their faces and big plastic bags in their hands. Also Martin couldn't take his eyes of all the trucks, cars and trains.

Outside was a little steamtrain where kids could sit on, they both liked that!
The next day we spend a relaxing morning on the lakeside and later that day went to this very cute little zoo.

The kids did like feeding all the animals! Well..., Mellie gave the pop-corn to the animals, Martin had a hard time doing just that. Not because he was afraid of the animals but because he wanted to eat it himself.
But the best of the Zoo for Martin were these little cars. He couldn't get enough of it. Mellie was also a very good and fast driver.
